Hello everyone, the Historian here with the wrapup for our penultimate story. Which was…charitably…not among the best of the Project. I’m still unsure whether it was the worst, but I think it’s fair to say it probably ranks near the bottom for the Project team.

6 – The Space Pirates
Hello everyone, the Historian here, and we are excited tonight! Admittedly, not because we’re reaching the stunning climax of The Space Pirates (we’re more relieved than excited about that), but because we have reached…the final reconstructed episode of the Project! Yes, we are definitely in the home stretch now, and, starting next week, it’ll be existing episodes all the rest of the way. Obviously, I have to give a shout-out and thank you to the good people at Loose Cannon Productions who have done an amazing job with each and every missing episode. Truly a labor of love, done in their spare time. I’m sad their website seems to have disappeared, so I can’t steer you towards their excellent work. Poke around youtube or elsewhere online and you’ll be in for a treat.
Now, without further ado, let’s get to the final reconstructed episode! This episode first aired 12 April 1969.

5 – The Space Pirates
Hello everyone, the Historian here.
Pity the poor Space Pirates. I don’t think another story in the whole history of the Project has been beset by such problems for us as this poor, penultimate story. First there was a necessary two-week break due to a personal emergency on my part, and then (after another episode) Ketina, Ronelyn, and CZ came down with the dreaded <strike>plague</strike>flu, which they then gave to me…which required another two week break. But we are now (mostly) recovered and back for episode five (of six, thankfully)! Let’s get to the episode!
This episode first aired 5 April 1969.

2 – The Space Pirates
Hello everyone, the Historian here. So. Um. Last week’s episode certainly was 25 or so minutes long, wasn’t it? And this week…well, let’s find out, shall we? Let’s get to the episode!
This episode first aired 15 March 1969.

1 – The Space Pirates
Hello everyone, the Historian here, going where no TARDIS Project member has gone before! Yes, as I’ve been nattering on about, I have not seen, nor read, nor nothing any of this story before, barring a few basic facts and some photos. This is, to say the least, exciting for me…and for the Project folks who are definitely sick of me knowing what comes next! And yes, I do know about this story’s less…than…stellar reputation, but I’m excited nonetheless. This story also sees us return to the work of recon makers Loose Cannon Productions (whose website has unfortunately disappeared). So, on with the episode!
This episode first aired 8 March 1969.

Wrapup – The Seeds of Death
Hello everyone, the Hissssssstorian here, with the wrapup of our latesssst sssssstory.
All right, that’s enough of that.
PRODUCTION NOTES: As with several stories this season, Seeds of Death had a bit of a troubled gestation. Brian Hayles began work on a storyline right after the initial Ice Warriors story, but then had to abandon it for a new one when the production team was less than impressed. The scriptwriting stage was further complicated when Frazer Hines changed his mind about leaving at the end of the Krotons, which meant another rewrite. Then Troughton was given a week’s holiday, which meant the Doctor had to be written out of episode four. Ultimately, episodes three through six were completely rewritten by Terrence Dicks.
After all that, the production itself didn’t seem to have run into many problems. For the whole story, see the Brief History of Time (Travel) page for this story.
PROJECT NOTES: We really enjoyed this one. There’s no question that the plot is a bit overcomplicated and the story’s a little light, but we had a lot of fun. What can I say, we like foam. And scary, but slightly silly monsters with amazing weapons. Sure, the whole “human adventure and exploration vs. the T-Mat” thing got completely buried in Ice Warrior shenanigans, but the whole thing somehow worked.
Yeah, the wrapup’s a little light this time, but we did have a good time with the discussions:
Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3
Episode 4
Episode 5
Episode 6And here’s the official episode guide.
Tomorrow–something very exciting! A story I’ve never seen before, never read a novelisation, kept away from all but the most general summary…sure, the story doesn’t have a great reputation, but…exciting!
Until then, I remain
